The Lit List
Summer Reading Program

Your child is smart. You already know that. But something about reading — the sitting still, the understanding, the putting thoughts into words — isn’t clicking the way you know it should. That’s exactly why this exists.

Enrollment is open — application deadline is May 22, 2026

Is this program the right fit?

You don’t need a diagnosis. You need a honest look.

Download the free packet and sit with your child for 20 minutes. You’re not grading them — you’re watching. How do they handle a question they’re not sure about? Do they go back to the text or guess and move on? Do they have something to say, or does the page feel like a wall? That 20 minutes will tell you more than a report card ever could.

If you notice this — keep reading

They finish fast but can’t really tell you what happened. They read the words but miss the meaning. They shut down when a question takes more than one sentence to answer. They’re bright in conversation but blank on paper. These aren’t character flaws — they’re gaps. And gaps close with the right structure.

If you notice this — we can go further

They push back on questions. They want to know why the answer has to be that. They connect the story to something real. They’re already thinking — they just need somewhere to go with it. The Lit List gives them that room and then challenges them to fill it.

Most parents who find us weren’t looking for a reading program. They were just tired of the summer slide, tired of the worksheets that went nowhere, tired of not knowing if their kid was actually okay. The packet is a starting place. The program is what comes next.

Grades 3 – 4

Building Readers,
Building Thinkers

This is the age where reading stops being about decoding words and starts being about understanding them — and a lot of kids stall right here. This program meets them where they are, builds the habit of thinking while they read, and gives them a way to put that thinking into words. By the end of summer, the difference shows.

Grades 5 – 6

Deeper Reads,
Sharper Minds

By this age, the expectation jumps — and a lot of kids who were “good readers” suddenly feel behind. This program pushes them past surface-level answers into real analysis: picking a side, defending it with evidence, and learning that their opinion only counts when they can back it up. That’s a skill that goes way past summer.
